About

Anne Rykken is a creative person with a passion for craft and conceptual thinking. She creates playful, yet crisp work for a variety of clients.  Anne’s work appears in marketing and commercial projects as well as interpretive exhibits in public and private venues. Encompassing graphic design, small architecture, sculpture, and writing, Anne’s work is  characterized by a light, clean, and meticulous reappropriation of everyday materials and handcrafted techniques.

After earning a BFA in graphic design and environmental design at the Minneapolis College of Art + Design, Anne was the graphic designer behind two Twin Cities architecture and landscape architecture firms for 20 years. Her goal was to make their work stand up and constantly say: “Here I am, inviting to read, fun to look at, and easy to understand – pick me!” And she succeeded.

In addition, she has published 50 issues of alumni magazines for Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis. Her publication is often referred to as one of the best amongst Twin Cities private high schools.

Although Anne often works alone on smaller projects with big and small clients, she enjoys collaborating with architects, designers, and art directors. She is happy to work on any size project.
